I am writing with the hope that you and your families are safe and healthy. The last several weeks have drastically changed our world, our state and our industry.  It is still unclear exactly how sets will look as we learn how to recover from the threat of Covid-19.

I want to share a few resources with you about federal and state programs you or your company may qualify for, including Pandemic Unemployment Assistance information for the state of Missouri.

  • Here is a link to a webinar on how film and video companies can utilize Federal resources KC Film co-hosted. It has some good clarifying information for independent contractors, gig workers and businesses.

During this time, we are preparing for when production is back, in whatever form, and want to present a strong showing of our infrastructure and resources for filming in Missouri. We are asking you all to take some time to update your production guide listing(s). Also, if you will, please forward this to any colleagues who might not have a listing to encourage that they create a listing.

  • Here is the link to update or create a listing in the Crew and Company Database on

Governor Parson has announced that the state will begin to re-open for business on May 4.  We realize that counties and cities across the state have varied stay-at-home orders in place that will still need to be followed. Some initial information/guidelines have been released from the Governor’s office about re-opening. Please follow the website below, it will be updated regularly.

Finally, as industry-specific best practices for production are being considered across the country and world, there is not yet a full plan.  We are monitoring many organizations for guidance and will share with you as soon as we can.  Until then, here is an example from this week’s Hollywood Reporter of what might be coming.

How Hollywood Can Make On-Set Work Safer When Production Resumes

In every way of life now, considerations are being made to enhance safety and focus on healthy practices. Thank you for working with us on these priorities. Stay safe and please update your listing(s) so that we are ready for the production work that will begin again.
